The Avid Reader

Rose has lived a hard life at the hands of her own father. Rose was abused by her father and became pregnant. Rose gave birth to a very sweet baby girl whom she named Anna. After she gave birth to Anna and then gave her a bath Rose was very tired so she fell asleep. Her body gave her no choice in the matter. Rose wanted to protect and keep her baby girl. But while she was asleep her father stole Anna right out from under her nose and left with her. Rose jumps up and runs after her father chasing him down the road trying her best to get her baby back before it is too late.

During the time that she is chasing her father something happens to Rose and the next thing she knows she is another time. She in a time right before the Salem witch trials. She meets a couple of people; a man and a woman who try to help her to know why she was sent back to this time period. They tell her she is chosen to help fight in a big war that is coming. Rose doesn't want to stay in this time and help them fight this war. All she wants to do is get back to her baby. Rose is torn between staying and helping William and Tess fight this war and getting back to Anna. She doesn't want to be selfish and not help these two people that have done nothing but be good to her. Rose has no choice but to stay and fight it may be her only way back to her daughter.

I read the first book in the Forever Girl series and loved it. I don't know which of the two that I liked the best. I can't figure out if I like Sophia or Rose's story the best. I felt so bad for Rose losing her baby and not being able to get back to her and not knowing if she will ever lay eyes on her daughter again. I really and truly loved how the only thing Rose wanted was her baby and how much she loved her, especially knowing how she became pregnant in the first place. Not a lot of women would love a child that much knowing who her father was. They couldn't have gotten through the pain and hurt to love a baby but not Rose. She had a heart that was bigger than her future, past and present life to give to Anna.

I loved the worlds that Rebecca created in Come, the Dark. I love how Rose traveled from her future to her past and ended up in Salem before the Salem witch trials. I have always loved this time period and would love to travel back to it myself. I can't wait to read more of the Forever Girl Series about some of the other characters that lived in this time. Come, the Dark has been on amazing reads. If you have not read any of the Forever Girl Series then I would like to recommend that you do if you like a good mystery or if you just like reading about witches and other paranormal creatures.
