I, Bathory, Queen of Blood

I, Bathory, Queen of Blood - Carole Gill, Natalie G. Owens In I, Bathory, Queen of Blood we have the pleasure of meeting and reading the memoirs of Erzsebet Bathory known as The Blood Countess as told in her own words. At a very young age Erzsebet is married to Ferenc Nádasdy who takes her name after they are married as her name is more well-known and higher up than his. They have three girls and two boys before he passes away around the age of forty three.

Erzsebet has an addiction one of which she does try to control but that is one battle that she just can’t seem to get a handle on. You see Erzsebet has a very dark side to her where she likes torturing and killing people while having sex with them at the same time. She also likes taking baths in their blood she believes that it makes her skin look smoother and younger.

When she is finally caught she is locked up behind four walls for her heinous crimes and left there to live out the remaining days of her life. Right before she expires she is rescued by her creator Anton. After he turns her into a vampire Erzsebet continues on with her addiction. At first she tries to keep it secret from Anton but that seems to be impossible.

Anton wants to help Damita (What Anton calls Erzsebet) to gain control over her addiction and he does help her for a while but then it starts all up again. Anton loves Damita so much that he can’t refuse her anything so after the bodies start to pile up he decides to help her get rid of them. He has now become and enabler.

I, Bathory, Queen of Blood is not the first book my Carole Gill that I have read and I hope it won’t be the last. When Carole first contacted me about reading one of her books she told me they were very dark in case I wasn’t up for reading something of that nature well I don’t remember her exact words but I guess that one word will do. I was like ok I love dark, bloody and gory stuff the gorier and bloodier it is the more I like it and you know what Carole did not shock me in the least I loved every minute of it. Actually I could have dealt with it if it had been even bloodier and gorier.

Now I’m not a bad person I wouldn’t even hurt a fly well unless he got in my way or messed with my food that is then I might. The point being how could anyone that couldn’t hurt a fly like something of this nature? Well you know what I can’t answer that but one thing I do know and that is that it is ok it is not a problem. But I was born in the horror month maybe that is what it is. Ok, ok enough about me now let me say if you like things of this nature; like a lot of blood, torture, lots of sex and killing then I, Bathory, Queen of Blood is the book for you.
